In a letter to Ereinion, written after receiving the news of Finrod’s death, Fingon recalls an earlier time in the First Age when he, together with Turgon, Glorfindel, Ecthelion and a group of Noldor, Teleri and Naugrim, helped Finrod erect the Barad Nimras in the Havens. Cameos by Fingolfin, Círdan, Erestor, Celeborn, Celebrimbor, Maedhros, among others.

Summary
Second Age, around 1370. After chasing Annatar off his lands, Gil-galad is overcome with doubt. Dark things awake everywhere as shadows settle across the lands to the East. Elves travel to Mithlond in growing numbers seeking passage to the West, burdened by a mounting despair they call sea-longing. Meanwhile, Tar-Anárion rules in Númenor and Celeborn and Galadriel -with Celebrían in tow- have left Nenuial and settled in Ost-in-Edhil, where Celebrimbor and the Mírdain have welcomed Annatar and are learning from him.

Summary
The source of Fingon’s valour lies deeper than the deeps of sea, rooted in the very foundations of Arda —so unfathomable that sometimes even he doubts it is there.

Summary
How did Gil-galad become the gallant “Elven-king, of him the harpers sadly sing" of the ballad?
This series follows the life and deeds of the longest-serving High King of the Noldor in Exile, through the people and events that shaped him and that he helped shape in turn. Stories are not in chronological order, and Ereinion is Fingon’s son.
All stories can be read independently. Follows Silm, UT and HoME canon except on Ereinion"s parentage.
Title comes from a poem by Italian Nobel laureate E.Montale. It could have been titled “The Making of a High King,” but I like poetry best.

Summary
Thranduil, Celeborn, Maglor and Daeron, the only remaining Eldar in the lands of Hither join forces in the present time and near future to buy humankind a future before the Dagor Dagorath.
If these four elves were still around, they would be surely involved in saving ecosystems around the world, one tree at a time.

Summary
Then Fingon the valiant, son of Fingolfin, resolved to heal the feud that divided the Noldor, before their Enemy should be ready for war; for the earth trembled in the Northlands with the thunder of the forges of Morgoth underground. Long before, in the bliss of Valinor, before Melkor was unchained, or lies came between them, Fingon had been close in friendship with Maedhros; and though he knew not yet that Maedhros had not forgotten him at the burning of the ships, the thought of their ancient friendship stung his heart. Therefore he dared a deed which is justly renowned among the feats of the princes of the Noldor: alone, and without the counsel of any, he set forth in search of Maedhros; and aided by the very darkness that Morgoth had made he came unseen into the fastness of his foes.

“How I wish,” said Governor Manwe, raising his glass and setting it down again, “That our afternoon might be spent just so…in a spirit of camaraderie and not urgency. But ma’am, I confess my own heart has been heavy this week hence, with the burden of my errand. May I discharge that burden now?”
