“Look um,” Jane paused to nervously clear her throat and took a deep breath before looking back at Maura. “Everything I said earlier I meant. I don’t know what kinda spell you got casted on me, but ever since you came into my life it’s felt like the world’s axis tilted a little. Suddenly got shit feelin’ right side up.”
Maura felt like her insides were all going to melt. She’d often felt the same way, like ever since Jane showed up she stopped being an outsider in her own life.Jane and Maura are living the high life together when an unwelcome guest shows up leaving Jane feeling like she never stood a chance and Maura reeling over how to fix everything.

“He did it to have you,” she whispered. “He wanted you,” this time it was louder and more of a despondent sigh than anything else. “You’re my wife.” To Maura, no more perfect words had ever been uttered. To be Jane’s wife... to have Jane as her wife. It made her skin itch in anticipation.
While on a date Maura stumbles across Jane's secret coping mechanism which brings with it a side of Jane she's never known. It's the perfect catalyst to push their relationship over the edge and into something more.

“Choosing who to save and who dies isn’t easy Dr. Isles, it’s one of the hardest things a person could ever do in life. And those people over there, they don’t know anything other than saving lives; that’s what hospitals are all about. But you and me, people like us, we know the truth. FD and I are gonna be out there having to choose who can be saved and who can’t. We’re the first line. Then you and your team are going to be choosing who could actually survive long enough to get to the hospital because you see death every day. You know what will kill someone.” She threw on her helmet and closed up her jacket. “Then, only after we’ve done the hard part, are we going to deliver bodies to them. I don’t need any of them freezing up because they’re seeing more death than life.” Then like the drop of a hat the lieutenant’s entire demeanor shifted back. She was relaxed. “They said you were the best.” Cheeky almost, and without a doubt cocky. “So go be the best Dr. Isles. I got people to save.” She tossed Maura a challenging smirk and turned jogging towards carnage.
The universe seems dedicated to pushing Maura Isles and the cocky lieutenant firefighter Jane Rizzoli together after a first encounter at a major city accident.

“Put it on speaker,” Savannah quiet shouted nearly thirty girls all huddled behind her just passed the entrance of Maura’s bedroom.
“No.” Maura bit back.
“Yes,” they all whispered, which ended up sounding like one big shout due to how many of them there were.
“No.”
“Maura?” Jane asked, trying to figure out what was going on.
“I swear I’ll tackle you,” Savannah threatened. “Speaker.”
Maura pulled the phone from her ear to whisper shout at her sister. “Not a chance.”
“Hello?”
There was a scuffle then a yelp and suddenly Maura found herself on the floor on her back with Savannah on her chest and Nina holding her phone, the speaker icon lit white.Jane get's paired with a member of the sorority Alpha Chi Omega for a class project; during their study session she meets VP Maura Isles and sparks fly. G!P Jane because we deserve it.
