“Stop…doing that,” Peter says, all verklempt and wilting in Ben’s arms.
“Doing what, bud?”
Peter inhales one breath, then two. “…making me feel things.”
And Ben laughs and hugs him tighter. “No can do, kid. You’re gonna feel all the things—all the good things—as much as I can make you.”
OR: Ben's got three nephews now. Long chats, tight hugs, and lessons in grief are all kind of par for the course.

Peter is staring at him in that strange, haunted way again. “What did you say?” he asks. “Just now. What did you say?”
Ben frowns. “I said you’re looking green.”
“Before that.”
“Um…you don’t need to apologize for being the smartest guy in the room? If you want to apologize, that’s fine, Pete. I’m sure he’d appreciate it. I just meant that he didn’t seem like he needed one.”
Peter’s expression doesn’t change. Those wide, wide eyes are trained on him.
“Ben?” Peter asks.
“Yeah, Pete?”
“Leave.” And he says it timid and soft, like he’s afraid Ben won’t listen.
OR: Peter struggles and Ben does his best to help. They figure it out together.

Viktor still thinks of the house as Jayce’s house, the bed as Jayce’s bed, the pillows and blankets as Jayce’s pillows and Jayce’s blankets. He supposes there’s no point in training himself out of the habit, now; soon enough they will be Jayce’s blankets and Jayce’s bed and Jayce’s house again, and Viktor will only have been a temporary visitor, moving in and out of his life and soon enough forgotten.

Peter mulls over the past half hour, staring up at Tony’s mural. After a few minutes, he hears something floating behind him, a rustle of thick fabric. Superman’s cape. Peter flicks the mask on in an instant, turning to face him, grateful the man made enough noise to alert him of his presence. It’s probably deliberate; Peter’s figured out that Superman is nothing if not polite.
“Just stopping by to check in with you before I head back to Metropolis,” Superman says. “Everything all right?”
Peter navigates life after returning from the dead into a new, combined world. (Or: the FFH portion of the plot.)
