Summary
Logan looks into his eyes- the effect is so much deeper with him that with anyone else; He can see Scott’s eyes, despite the ruby quartz, which makes it all the more intimate- and quickly looks back down at his claws. He retracts them. “People do crazy things for love.”
Right. Because Logan is in love with Scott’s wife.
It feels so natural for Scott, to exist, just the three of them, he tends to forget that his happiness brings Logan pain.
Logan shakes his head, catches his bottom lip with one of his fangs and holds it there. Scott finds it difficult to look away. “I’m not just talking about Jeannie.”
“I know you care about the rest of the team, Logan, of course I do.”
Logan shakes his head, and Scott gets the sense he said something wrong.
He picks up Logan’s hand and caresses the spots between his knuckles that rip open every time his claws are extended. There’s still a bit of dried blood lining the openings, and he wipes it away.
“Sometimes I worry that because your skin heals so fast, you try to make everything else fix itself on that timeline too. Just because the scar is gone doesn’t meant mean the pain wasn’t real.”
