Summary
“We could’ve gone again.”
Eddie snorts. “I’m old. You expect me to get it up twice?”
“Yes,” Buck says, like it’s a given, like duh. “I could get you to do it right now.”
The entire world pauses, and Eddie actually feels it, the bolt of arousal slinking down his spine all the way to his toes. He wets his lips. “Right now?”

Summary
Eddie didn’t text back in the 20 seconds Buck spent staring at his phone, which was no surprise. There wasn’t any response while he drove to the station, either, but that made perfect sense. Eddie was working today, and he was probably rushing to get there just like Buck was.
Buck wasn’t in the mood to stare at his phone all day, jumping out of his skin at every notification, so he removed the temptation and, in a spurt of newfound maturity, left his phone in his locker for the duration of his shift.
But there was no text when he checked around lunchtime, or when they got a lull after dinner. Or in the morning when his shift was over.
All of that he could easily rationalize away, but after four tortuous days, Buck accepted the fact that he’d been ghosted.

Summary
“Chris,” Eddie says, “is gonna be okay. He’s safe, he’s taken care of – so if it’s okay I’d rather talk about anything else. Anything.” He looks at Buck, eyes bright with tears. “Can we just – hang out? Get drunk like we’re in our early 20’s and have no responsibilities or concept of consequences?”
or, during quarantine Buck and Eddie find a way to forget everything for a little while.

Summary
They're friends, that's all there is to it.
Until Eddie lets himself into Buck's apartment unannounced, and finds him in a compromising position. That should be nothing, just something to laugh about down the line, except afterwards, it's like a switch has flipped, and neither of them can get it out of their minds.
The solution? They need to get it out of their systems. Just one time, and things will go back to normal. But one time turns to two, which turns to more nights spent together than apart, and still, they haven't actually spoken about what any of this means for them.
They're still just friends, right?- Language:
