Summary
The sound was like someone dragging their long fingernails on a chalkboard, an uneasy and panic inducing sound. All Shouto could do was watch him through slitted eyes and gritted teeth, thinking about how everybody in his class is a fool. How can they all have high hopes about becoming a successful hero when they can’t even see the evil in front of them. The evil has slowly infected some of the students and now their bodies are being used as puppets.

The ringing in his ears begin to settle and he can hear sobbing, the sobbing of many people around him. Fuyumi is holding onto him again, she’s crying again. She’s distraught, she’s holding onto everything that can keep her up. Heavy breathing becomes louder, he isn’t sure if it’s him or his sister. It just keeps getting louder. Shouto doesn’t feel real, he’s watching, he’s spectating. He’s spectating the place where his father breathed his final breath.

Summary
Lu Guang, Cheng Xiaoshi, and Qiao Ling thought they would have plenty of time to rest and go about their normal day at the photo studio after everything that happened with Qian Jin and Li Tianchen. Sadly, that didn't happen as Captain Xiao Li shows up to the studio with his new partner, Shui Chyou, who has been working on a missing person case since joining the police force. She and Captain Xiao come to seek help from the trio in hopes that they can help solve the case. Imagine their surprise when Shui Chyou admits to being the girl in the photo and that the victim is her twin brother Shui Yu.
Will they be able to uncover what happened to the boy? Or will Shui Chyou ever get the closure that she wants.

Shouto was a liar.
Ever since his brother had died in the war, the world seemed determined to fix him, to soothe the raw places inside him that he swore didn’t exist. They didn’t understand. He was fine— he had to be fine. But that, of course, was the cruellest lie of all. Beneath the mask, Shouto was anything but fine, his grief a fire that burned quietly, relentlessly, where no one could see. And the more they tried to reach him, the tighter he clung to the only truth he could offer: “I’m fine.”
Couldn’t they see? Shouto didn’t need help.
Or Shouto refuses to accept help, and his teachers and classmates try to reach out to him, hoping to get him the support he so desperately needs.
