Summary
Setters are undoubtedly pivotal to offense in volleyball; the conductor, the control tower, the power freak. They are almost always in contact with the ball, even more so than spikers who bring home victory to the team. But a machinery does not only work with one cogwheel. Setters give their spikers the best toss, while liberos give their setters the best receives. No one receives as cleanly as a libero does; nothing puts a setter more at ease than knowing they have direct support. They start off rough, but Atsumu soon realises that Karasuno mainly functions because of their libero. He wants what they have - wants Nishinoya Yuu to be the spine of his team, wants Nishinoya Yuu to be his own spine.

Nishinoya despises guys like the blonde Miya —— condescending and girl-popular.
