Summary
He doesn't have it in him to panic at the unfamiliar surroundings, a hand coming up to scratch at his chest. He burrows himself back into his blanket, eyelids already drooping.
It's lighter in the room when he wakes up again. A groan reaches his lips, startling him when it escapes the confines of his throat.
He moves to shift his leg, but a (familiar?) weight bars him from doing so. He lifts his head just enough to blink past blurry vision and see another man laying at the foot of his bunk, his lower body hung off the edge as he snores silently.
See, this is the part where he panics.

Summary
Stan's life hasn't always been great. He's done some not so nice things, got caught up with the wrong kind of people, lied, cheated, frauded, and pilfered - not that he can really remember. Not really. Not fully. All he knows is that, now? Now things are good. With his brother just about to fulfill a lifelong ambition, and he himself living the life he always craved, Stan feels downright giddy with happiness. But just because you can't remember the past, doesn't mean it can't come back to haunt you. In the most terrifying of ways...

Summary
“Ford,” Stan interrupts. He isn’t sure where he’s getting the words from, but the intensity in his voice alone makes him sound like another person entirely. “He abused you, and that’s— It’s not okay. It’s awful and evil and it makes me wanna go back in time and kill him all over again. But you’re not stupid for it.” Stan’s momentum, thankfully, doesn’t break along with his voice as he continues, “You could not have known better. There’s no textbook for what happened to you. Or, well, there’s probably a self-help or two, but—”
Ford looks angry and miserable and unconvinced, the stubborn bastard. Stan hates the thing that put that expression on his face more than he’s ever hated anyone, and it’s that thought which makes something in Stan’s brain click and go, Oh. I’m doing this all wrong.
It’s a lightning strike of a revelation, a haymaker to the gut. Stan’s heart trips unsteadily in his chest, but his next words come out iron-cool and silver-smooth. “What if it was me?”
In which Ford and Stan have even more in common than they’d thought.

They do it together.
