Summary
Eve moves first, as has become their norm. It is dreadful, thanks for asking, and Villanelle no longer knows what to expect from Eve. Or maybe she's never known what to expect from Eve. Maybe that's what this has been about this whole time. But that's too much like philosophy for her.
The only good philosophers are dead philosophers, and she has been trying her very dearest to move past the business of deciding who is or isn't dead.

Summary
Frankly, Villanelle wishes she didn’t feel anything at all. She wishes Eve had put the hammer down and stepped away, had never cracked open the concrete box around her heart. Villanelle wishes she herself were stronger. She wishes she had stepped back and away, had left that Asian woman with amazing hair where she belonged – in a hospital bathroom, in Villanelle’s imagination, in her own safe, little life.
Or, Italy and everything after.

But really, booking hotel rooms in Rome is a bad idea, sending them to said auction is a bad idea and the entire operation looks like an ineluctable disaster.
