“Wait,” he cleared his throat, a gentle hand on her shoulder. Her eyes met his, and he allowed himself to linger for just a moment. “I also have a question.”
“Okay, what is it?”
Right, a question. He honestly wasn’t even sure what assignment he had in front of him. His lack of a response caused a smile to grow in her eyes, her signature lopsided smirk slowly forming on her lips.
“Just, uh, this concept is troubling for me. I can’t get it right.”
His eyes followed hers to his paper, reminding him that it was his maths assignment.
“Fiyero, your paper is blank. What have you been doing the last half hour?”
“As I said, the concept is troubling.”
