When you spend 2 years of your childhood waiting for the moment the world literally comes to an end, you have to process it eventually. Nagisa and Honoka do so differently, and perhaps at the wrong time.

Summary
When Ted manages to drag himself out of bed on his day off, he can hear the tail end of a song fading out and “It’s My Party” start playing in its place. This station really likes Lesley Gore, Ted notes as he stumbles into the living room, eyes still feeling crusty from sleep.
Bill’s dancing around and singing quietly, barely audible over the microwave running. Ted glances at the clock on the appliance, before remembering it doesn't show when in use.
“Making breakfast, dude?”

Summary
Bill gives himself a few solid whacks on the chest, he can feel the object about to come out. A few more coughs and a slight bigger bloodspatter and—
It’s a flower.
Or a flower petal at any rate. Bill reaches a trembling hand out to touch it. It’s soft and delicate, and it’s covered in blood. He’s not entirely sure what the original color was. A flower petal. From his throat. He’s sure he hadn't eaten any flowers since he was at least 7, and even if he had, he’d expect to be ralphing it up, not coughing it up.
Cradling the small petal in his shaking hand, he whispers out a quiet, “What the fuck?”

Summary
Carefully, Missy finally pulls back but lets her hand linger on Bill's. “Is this why you’ve been pretending to be sick?” she asks quietly. “I figured you were mad at him or something like that.”
“I am sick,” Bill retorts, drawing back into himself. He can see her about to speak but he cuts her off. “I am,” he says, laying down roughly. His eyebrows draw together angrily as he glares at the ceiling. “Sick in the head. Dudes aren't supposed to wanna be with other dudes. That’s what babes are for.” He feels something in him shudder at the words and tries to repeat them to himself mentally until he can make them sound okay.
“Bill.” He doesn't move. Missy huffs. “William Stanley Preston, Esquire, you listen to me right now,” she says sternly. He's never heard her use his full name before, and the shock of that alone makes him sit upright immediately. “Loving someone is something that comes naturally,” she tells him. “It’s not your fault, and it isn't wrong.”

Kanji has stopped talking. He is staring, actually, off to the corner of the gazebo, decidedly not looking at Naoto. There is a crease in his brow, his are eyes narrowed, and there is a tilt to his mouth that reminds Naoto of Grampa. He’s concerned.

Summary
Ted wraps his arms around Bill's waist and leans in closer to him. His hair has gotten pretty long recently, and it tickles Bill's cheeks as they move together.
"You making pancakes?"
"Yeah, dude. It's the only thing I can make."
Ted laughs, the sound of it muffled by Bill's hair. He shifts slightly, moving to rest their temples together, and shifts his gaze towards the pancake currently being cooked.
"That's okay. Your pancakes are most excellent." He can feel the way Ted's words slide across his skin, leaving streaks of warmth behind them, and if Bill wasn't cooking he would close his eyes and lean into it, chasing the feeling a little more each time Ted speaks.

Summary
He feels a soft pressure over his ears and turns his head to find Marko smiling at him as he transfers ownership of the headphones to him. Marko's hand slides down Paul's arm, stopping to rest just above his elbow. Paul turns the music up louder, hoping to drown out the screaming going on in the back of his mind.

Summary
The sweet melody of "You Really Got Me" is drifting through the air, and Ted finds himself humming along. He imagines hearing it from the radio of Bill's (Missy's) car as the two of them speed off to who-knows-where, free of homework and Ted's dad and all other sources of stress. They'd spend a weekend in a big city and go to concerts every night, drowning all their troubles in music. If Ted really lets his thoughts go wild he can imagine Bill placing a hand on the curve of his jaw at one of those concerts, tugging Ted towards him. Maybe his other hand would come to rest on Ted's hip and maybe his chest would be flush against Ted's. And maybe, just maybe, he would lean in, looking up at Ted from under his eyelashes, and say -
"Ted, dude!" Ted's daydream shatters at the sound of Bill shouting from the other side of the door. He knocks, loudly, and shouts again. "Can I come in?"
