Harry Potter was doing perfectly fine.
Sure he just broke his engagement and fled to another country with his kid and two best friends after another scandal in the Daily Prophet. Sure he’s pretty sure Death is laughing at him as he tries to figure out what being its master even means and how that impacts his ability to actually die. Sure he’s almost certain that he just sold what little of his soul doesn’t belong to Death to the principal of UA for a chance at a new life away from Magical England and somehow tripped his way into reached heroics to a group of traumatized teenagers that all look far too much like looking himself in the mirror at seventeen.
He’s fine.
Now if only he could stop daydreaming about two married heroes, get his students to stop asking if he’s okay, and figure out why Teddy looks like they’re planning something everything would be perfect.

Distantly, Izuku thinks, Oh, I’ve never felt like this before, as his clenched fingers pull back, encasing a glowing orb pulsating with yellow and orange light. He feels the burn of it in his imagined fist. This is Kacchan’s quirk. Izuku knows with unfounded but absolute certainty that it is.
Or Izuku has All for One but everyone mistakes it for an erasure quirk.

Quirkless, young adult Midoriya Izuku has a problem. Namely, he has a crush on his purple haired, tired-looking neighbor. They keep running into each other and the guy is actually pretty nice under that deadpan facade, has a sense of humor, doesn't seem to judge anyone for their quirk status, and is constantly spoiling any cat in the building that finds him. (He's also a shameless flirt.)
But Izuku has concerns. About the strange bruises and bloodied knuckles. About the weapons he's seen when stopping by for a cup of sugar. About the shady-looking figures he's accidentally spotted his neighbor meeting with. About the fact that right after the news reported a big crime bust, his neighbor came home beat all to hell and looking haunted.
Izuku has a problem. Namely, he has a crush on his neighbor, who he's pretty sure is secretly a villain. And he has no idea what to do with that.
(or: Adult!ShinZuku AU where Shinsou is an underground, undercover pro hero trying to find a lead on a case that may or may not involve the socially awkward guy living next door. Misunderstandings abound.)

The chance to save their friends and families and loved ones is a chance that's worth the risks and the expectations. Even if it means having to disappear when in the past, these last heroes will do whatever it takes, with Deku leading the charge.
Starting over from square one shouldn't be too difficult, despite the laundry list of actions to be taken.
