Did that look like a successful trick to you?”

“Yes, well, you’re a capable enough angel, I’m sure you can take care of it.” Aziraphale clears his throat. “I’m sure you can always ask, ah, someone else for help if you need.”
“I can’t,” interrupts Muriel. The smile is gone from their face, replaced by a frown and a pursing of lips. “It’s Mr. Crowley that’s the problem.”
“Surely it’s nothing-”
“He’s missing.”
It's been two years since Aziraphale left the bookshop, and he's doing all he can to throw himself into his work. Certainly, there's a lot to be done: the Second Coming doesn't happen every day, after all. Between attempting to impress the Metatron and his newly assigned meetings with the Son of God, Aziraphale is more than a little overwhelmed.
Then Crowley disappears.

"Exactly how well did you know him?" Asked Crowley curiously leaning with his back against the desk and his feet cross at the ankles.
"Quite well dear," said Aziraphale taking a sip.
"Quite well as in you went to his plays, or quite well as in you were wearing a green carnation in your lapel," frowned Crowley.
