Summary
Regulus Black has it all worked out, he's going to get a grant from Oxford to go study Acacia trees in Africa and change the world. Maybe he won't ever fall in love or have a family, but at least he has that, his plan. So when his brother runs away with a man and leaves the family name in shambles and Regulus' esteemed reputation under dubious suspicion- thus throwing said plan out of the window, Regulus is forced to wing it. Despite his trepidation this is how he ends up on a bizarre adventure in Southern Africa with James Potter as his guide.
When thing after thing goes wrong and he starts falling madly in love with his ridiculous(ly good looking) guide he realises his anxiety about the whole trip was misguided. He should have been straight up terrified instead.
A story about learning to let go of the things that you use to keep control, and instead reach for the things you long for.
