“What are the details of the guy's quirk?” Hawks asks, still a little ticked off. Clearly, Dabi’s got two new appendages sticking out of him. But why is Hawks quirkless all of a sudden?
“Why should I tell you?” Dabi grumbles.
“I’m missing two of my limbs, I think I’m well within my right to know why that is,” Hawks can feel irritation flare up inside him, accompanied by another wave of heat.
Dabi doesn’t say anything which really isn’t helping. Hawks is sweating more and more with each passing second and he’s half convinced he’s about to burst into flames-

Dabi freezes. His neck turns to look at her, heart picking up speed. The sound of his blood rushes through his ears at an alarming rate.

He definitely sees when the guy turns around and scans the room, eyes landing on Touya. Touya takes notice of a big scar, going down his cheek and disappearing into his shirt.
Touya doesn’t flinch, doesn’t pretend he’s not watching him. The stranger doesn’t either until the professor starts on the next slide. The blond smiles at him before turning.

"Birdie." Dabi calls out to him. No response. Not even a flinch or anything that would indicate Hawks heard him. His brows crease in confusion. He stands up, walking closer to Hawks with caution. Hawks doesn't stop feeling around, doesn’t falter, he doesn't do anything even as his eyes pass over Dabi, as though he wasn't even there.
"Hey. Hawks." Nothing.
Dabi curses under his breath, moving to stand in front of Hawks. He reaches out and touches the man's arm and that has Hawks flinching with a surprised gasp.
"Who's there?" Hawks asks loudly, too loud for the empty apartment. He shrinks away from Dabi. If he looks close enough, he can see Hawks trembling.
He touches Hawks' arm again but the man just slaps his hand away. "Don't t-touch me!"
Or;
Au where Hawks' feathers are literally the only source of his hearing and sight and the HPSC does something to him that leaves all his feathers dead. Dabi finds him blind and deaf and stays with him.

The two-toned boy tilts his head and it shouldn’t be so cute, but it is. “How so?”
Hanta hums, tapping his chin in mock thought, a teasing smile splitting his face, “obscure, a little sour, not many people like them.”
Todoroki pauses for a moment, processing the words. A pout makes its way onto his face, “Did you just call me an angry unlikable weirdo?”
He can’t stop the laughter that bubbles up in his throat, craning his neck up to giggle at the sky. “Nah, I’m saying you have unique taste. And maybe a little weird. But that’s a good thing,” he taps the side of Todoroki’s stomach with his foot. The boy huffs but Hanta can see a hint of a smile.

She even learned that she wasn’t alone. There were other queer students, some that thanked her for her bravery and inspired them to come out as well.
The day she came out to her closest friends, a crushing weight was lifted off of her chest. Her ribs were no longer stabbing into lungs, her heart beat at a normal rate. Her body finally wasn’t collapsing in on itself. She had never felt so light.
Until the realization dawned on her.
