Summary
It was a matter of convenience for both of them. Get both of their families off their backs about marriage, allow Xie Lian the freedom to be himself. They worked well together as friends and roommates. The fact that they were technically married was just incidental.

Halsin swallows, rewords his question. “How old were you when you were turned?”
