“Maybe you should go, Lance, I don’t want this to make things even more unstable between us.”
“Keith, hey, it’s not your fault.” Lance sighs, watching as Keith whirls around and starts back to the house with an eagerness that suggests he’s going to go right back to hiding if Lance doesn’t stop him. His tail is flicking from side to side in agitation as he walks and though it’s cute, Lance forces his eyes above the waist lest his mind start wandering again. Lance rushes to his side, trying to reassure him. “Maybe you’re going through some type of alien mating season? You’ve probably got all kinds of freaky hormones telling your brain what to feel. It probably has nothing to do with me.”
“It does.” Keith shakes his head. “I smelled you from the desert, Lance. All of these changes took a turn for the worse when you got back into town. It has everything to do with you.”
