He catches Nagi’s gaze, unbeknownst that he’s unconsciously staring. He looks away quickly and pretends to be unaffected about it. He’s actually feeling embarrassed about that, so he walks away from the crowd and gets inside his classroom. His ears feel hot at the stare he has seen.
They say if you catch someone staring at you, that means they're also looking for you. However, that's ridiculous. Reo isn't close with Nagi and Nagi doesn't know him personally. Even if Reo wants to befriend him, it's too impossible with the gap between them. Nagi might think he's one of those people who are into him because he's very rich.

Kunigami loved running along the beach at dawn.
Perhaps his favorite part was the feeling of newness that came with each sunrise, the sense of something magical glittering on the ocean’s surface.
And now, more and more frequently, was the occasional splash of something large always just out of the corner of his eye. Too big for a fish, he thought, but not big enough for a whale. Typical of beaches, there were always rumors of sharks or dolphins but Kunigami ran every morning and had never seen either one.
Then one day, he thought he finally caught a glimpse of a tail disappearing into the water.
Maybe it was a dolphin after all.
It wasn’t a dolphin.
Kunigami stared at the unconscious mermaid—er, merman, in his bathtub.

Because that’s just a normal thing that rivals do. They mend each other’s robes and fix each other’s ribbons. Obviously. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, and Mu Qing is not being delusional. And he most definitely does not miss seeing the golden ribbon in Feng Xin’s hair.
Mu Qing realizes Feng Xin's ribbon has been ripped, and it bothers him more than it should. Eventually, he decides to fix it himself.
