Summary
Louis knew the odds of meeting a soulmate at all, let alone in high school, were astronomical. Not unlike getting hit by lightning while being attacked by a shark while falling plane debris crashed around you.
Louis felt like this was a valid catastrophic analogy: his soulmate was Lestat de Lioncourt.
Beyond the indignity of it all, Louis had been ready to stay in the closet the rest of his life, or at least until Mama and Papa passed. But his sexuality was apparently written across the broad shoulder of the community bicycle.

"Fifteen minutes away," Louis tilted his head, Claudia-like motion of curiosity. Lestat wasn’t sure whose it was first. The obfuscation almost made him smile.
"It is not that far, but," Lestat swallowed, "I have a raincoat you can take.”
