Summary
“I have to go,” Dan Heng declared, his voice piercing through the silence. Jing Yuan shifted and curled his arms around him. “I won’t be able to return for some time.”
The Luofu was his home, but so was the Express. Stelle, March, Himeko, Welt, and Pom-Pom, they still needed him, and he knew, deep down, that he still needed them as well. He couldn’t rest until the silver rail was fully restored, until the stars were all connected again and united for a greater cause—for the greater good. And there was still so much to see, so much to discover, so much to experience.
He deserved to live his life, too. Untethered and free.
Dan Heng lets himself be selfish, and Jing Yuan waits.

Summary
You could never have her, and maybe that’s why you wanted her. This isn’t love, you tell yourself. But that doesn't make it hurt any less.
Many people have captured your heart in some way shape or form. But there was something different about Firefly. On the path of the Trailblaze, you often throw yourself into harm's way for the sake of others. For the sake of a better world. They are not only people you steal kisses from in between missions, but they are also comrades. People who will fight by your side when asked. They are people who have been tempered by tragedy and war. People who have felt loss. People you have helped bandage up after battle.
However, Firefly was no comrade of yours. Never someone who fought by your side. She was something far more dangerous.
She was just a girl.
Stelle mourns what could have been.

Summary
Sunday’s hands trail up her creamy thighs, teasing the hem of her skimpy dress. This must be Hell, he realizes when his breath catches at the sight of her leaning over him—her silky, long tresses cascading over her shoulders, and her eyes shining in the dark. Crimson. Demonic. Flushed cheeks and swollen lips. Her heavy breaths. Signs of his crumbling control all over her body.
“I despise you, Fool,” he manages to bite out. He digs crescents into her flesh, tiny pink marks befitting of a sinner—but who’s the sinner?

Summary
It could’ve been anyone.
You could’ve picked anyone when you formed this team of yours, but when you weighed all of the possible outcomes, you knew that you couldn’t have Kafka without Blade. Without Silver Wolf. Without Sam. Without everyone and everything currently resting in this place you now call “home.” It could’ve been personal feelings, or maybe it was just a matter of statistical odds, but oh, Destiny’s Slave, you know better.
It was Destiny.

Summary
Completely unaware of each other's identities, an assassin and a spy build a home together under the guise of convenience.
Sometimes she returned home with well-concealed injuries. The subtle limp of her leg. The way she would sometimes struggle to reach things on the top shelf—things she had never struggled to reach before. More opaque layers of foundation and concealer. Nothing ever got past him.
He wished he could kill anyone who had ever put their hands on her, patient or not. He knew it was irrational of him, but one night, when Kafka came home with a broken arm, Ren saw red and wanted nothing more than to close the distance between them and ask, “Who did this to you?”
A part of him had a hunch that it wasn’t just “patients” who put her in harm's way, but he never acted on his suspicions. She respected him and his secrets. It was only fair that he returned the courtesy.
