"I'll stitch you up when you are back to consciousness" she mumbled, completely wrapped up in the dressing of the wound. So much so that she did not notice the voice that addressed her, at first.
A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.
"If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"
Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with.
Then, Caitlyn spoke.
English this time, laced with a light French accent.
"I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

Summary
Unlike Ava, whose two third of a torso is covered by the kitchen island with how freakishly tall it’s designed to be, Beatrice towers over her, and when she bends down to be at Ava’s eye level, Ava can see the muscles of her bare forearms flexing against the marbled countertop.
How ironic. The same countertop where she’s made countless meals for the husband she once loved, is now used as a glorified thirst trap, and for arms out of all things too.

Summary
Ava loved her family more than she loved anything or anyone else in the world, but she was tired. She was tired of the constant interrogation, wondering why was she still single when people around her age were already in fully committed relationships, or why she hadn't brought any of her partners yet when she came back home to introduce them to the family.
