    In 2003, Channel _W, an MFU writers' discussion list, held a 1,000 word challenge. One of the stories was called "Dinner for One." In it a vampire-like creature observes Solo and Kuryakin.

    Everyone was so intrigued by the unique voice of the OC, that Linda White was urged to write more about him. Now, there have been a lot of MFU stories with a vampire theme, but usually the vamp is the bad guy (or one of the agents becomes a vampire).

    We thought it might be interesting if the vampire was cast in the role of the Innocent. Linda also wanted the vampire to be less supernatural and more realistically based.

    We spent about six weeks on the collaboration. It's a bit different than most of what we both write and it's one of those stories that never received much exposure. Nevetheless, it goes in some interesting directions. We hope you have as much fun reading it as we did writing it.
