Aly paused from her report on leftover rebellions in the eastern isles to comment that the revealing cream colored nightgown looked perfect against Dove’s dark skin. She winked and returned back to the report. The moment was so unerringly Aly that Dove laughed, likely what Aly had intended.
But still, Dove’s stomach knotted further. What about this wedding was hers? Seemingly every maid, seamstress, and doctor in the Isles saw her body. Winna, every guard, and even her darking watched her and Briar’s interactions like hawks to make sure Dove acted like a Queen rather than a lovestruck fool.
Well, Dove was a lovestruck fool and sometimes she wanted to act like one.
