Summary
Kaveh is riffling through her scribbled notes for a third time—she swears she has the elevation numbers here, somewhere—when Alhaitham walks into the study and drapes herself over Kaveh’s back.
Her hands sneak under Kaveh’s arms and cross over her belly. Her short, soft hair tickles Kaveh’s forehead. She nuzzles her nose against Kaveh’s cheek. She smells like rich, raw undergrowth and the sweet vanilla of old paper.
“Oh,” Kaveh says, arrested, notes held suspended in her hands. “You—” Kaveh twists, breathing in that deep scent, until she can just look Alhaitham in the eye. Her face tingles with the proximity. “Already?”
(Alhaitham is in heat. Kaveh takes care of her.)

Summary
Nie Huaisang’s face was spattered with mud and blood, and his hair fell disheveled around it. A bruise blossomed purple on his cheek. He looked at the ground, lips held together stubbornly.
Wen Xu leaned back and twirled his brush between his fingers. “Hello, Nie-er-gongzi,” he said. “How nice it is to see you again.”
In truth, they’d only ever met in passing—Wen Xu had better things to do than pay attention to useless nobodies. But he was indeed happy to see Nie Huaisang, scant weeks after the declaration of war. What a prize that had fallen into his lap! He could taste Nie Mingjue’s impotent rage already.

They have sex about it and cycle through multiple philosophical debates about it. About the lentils. you must remember... this was all about lentils. Everyone chose your fighter and pick a side in the big lentil debate.

Alhaitham wakes up with amnesia. The hows and whys of waking up with amnesia don’t seem to concern him as much as trying to figure out what the deal between him and his very attractive roommate is. Meanwhile, Kaveh has been saddled with an amnesiac roommate, many questions about how he ended up with an amnesiac roommate, and more than one love confession from the very same amnesiac roommate.
For the sake of his sanity, he’ll ignore that third thing.
