Eddie is flushed all down his chest; his breathing starts to hitch. He is down to tight black briefs and nothing else, but that just makes him hotter - being exposed and on display.
“You like what you’re seeing, baby?” Josh’s voice barely cuts through the sound of his own breathing. Eddie can only nod absently in return. He feels his grip on his last few inhibitions start to slip. He’s been with Josh long enough for him to learn Eddie’s buttons and switches when it comes to turn-ons.

Summary
The thing is, Eddie grew up in a culture that emphasized masculinity and a man has to be the protector and provider. It was incredibly hard to tear himself away from that indoctrination. Only until he moved to LA and away from his parents and the suffocating environment of the military was he able to accept things about himself that he denied all his life. Mainly the desire and need to let go and be the one who needs to be protected. He couldn’t always be the provider; he wanted to be one wrapped up in someone’s arms and be surrounded and feel safe.
All those desires cracked open when he joined the 118 and met Buck and Tommy.
Or; After a fake date then a real date and Eddie getting shot, they figure out what they really want.

God, they’re fucked up about the same stuff but in totally opposite ways. Forget skipping chapters, they weren’t even reading the same book.
Alright, in summary: Buck got scared and held on. Tommy got scared and ran. Neither of them actually said what they meant to each other. Buck has wanted to reach out so much he’s been banned from two grocery stores. Tommy has bubbled Buck three times that he is aware of. It’s 10:58 pm, Buck is tipsy on four beers, and his main coping mechanism just crapped out on him.
Oh, and it’s New Year’s Eve.

Summary
Buck knows he's bi. He knows what he wants. And what he wants, right now, is Tommy. Maybe his hand in marriage, because he's getting desperate. Because, despite all of his attempts, and all of the positive responses from Tommy, for some reason, Tommy just ... doesn't act on anything.
Tommy knows Evan is straight. He asked both Howie and Hen about it, and he trusts their word on it. It doesn't stop Evan from pulling him in, and making him fall head over heels for him anyway. Tommy knows better than to fall for a straight guy, he does, but ... he can't change it.
Everything would be easier if they just talked to each other, but where's the fun in that?
- (canon divergent 7x04 and onwards, Buck already knows he's bi and Tommy thinks he's straight.)
