A life changing injury pushes Dick off the deep end. Going on his farewell tour, before he closes the curtain on his life for good, Roy comes along for the ride of a lifetime.
It’s better, after all, to go out in a blaze of glory, than to simply fade away.
OR: After the events of Batman v1 #408, Dick loses the use of his arm, and Robin, in one fell swoop. Meanwhile, Ollie’s left for good, and Roy’s in a downward spiral of his own.
In other words, Dick heads to Atlantic City, ‘’with Bruce’s credit card in one pocket, and Roy in the other.’’
