Summary
Harry often stared at Malfoy in the Great Hall.
He wasn't quite sure why he did it anymore. It had started out in their early years as suspicion, but as the years past it quickly became habit.
Take a bite. Respond to conversation. Look at Malfoy.
It's just what he did.
After the war, when everyone had worked hard to amend what was broken, Harry and Malfoy had forgiven each other. So why did Harry still look up after every bite?
The answer to that became abruptly clear about a week into their eight year.
And neither of them were anywhere near ready for it.

“You’re the fucking Golden Boy,” he snarled, his temper sudden and overwhelming. Harry’s eyes went wide. “I’m nothing.”
He choked out a gasp, pressing a palm to his sternum like the words had hurt to verbalize. Harry wanted to copy the motion – to his own chest or Malfoy’s, Harry wasn’t sure – but the abject despair in his expression froze Harry.
“Oh, Draco—” Harry began, tone sympathetic, and he flinched.
“Don’t.” His jaw tightened. “I mean it, Potter. Leave it alone.”
Harry wouldn’t. Had never been able to.

When Harry is told that he will have to open the Yule Ball again that year, Professor McGonagall not-so-gently informs him that his dancing is not up to par. He needs lessons. And who does she want him to take lessons from? None other than Draco Malfoy. So why isn't the obnoxious git mocking him mercilessly? And why is he being strangely.....nice?
A/N: I know in the canon, the ball only happens during the tournament, but I don't care. :P
