And for some reason that he really didn’t have the time or the will to figure out the mere thought made him choke a little because no way, he wasn’t letting George get that close to the TNT or the titan for that matter.
“Absolutely not, are you insane?!”
And the harshness with which he scolded the other for even suggesting it almost shocked him too because until just a few months before this man had been hunting him and they’d been ready to kill each other and now Dream was genuinely ready to protect him with his life.
“For fuck’s sake Dream! What am I even here for if you don’t let me help?”
or, after the hunters stopped going after him, Dream found himself face to face with a Titan he can't defeat. He end up asking an old enemy for help... And maybe they care about each other more than they'd think.

The other just stared at him for a long moment before his eyebrows furrowed, the gesture pulling at an old wound that cut his left one in half, and the clear confusion George could see swirling in his gaze made his heart hurt.
Did the other not believe him? Was he just untrusting or had he been tricked like this before? Had anyone ever–“You’re not real.”
The words made him freeze in his spot, the blood in his veins turning to ice because just how hopeless was Dream to believe George was a hallucination?
Had it already happened before? Had the other’s brain conjured an image of him as Dream had been suffering from injuries and blood loss just to comfort him in the few moments he had left before he passed out?
And he hadn’t been there, he’d never been there for him and fuck, George wanted to punch himself.or, months after Dream's imprisonment, George recieves a text from Sam.

Summary
The audience had requested a song for them to cover, and it was one they hadn't played in a while and Dream was terrible at remembering things and once he'd realised that he couldn't remember what weird tuning he was supposed to use he panicked a little.
He didn't want to fuck up a song that wasn't even theirs, a song the fans had requested, it would leave them all disappointed–He tried to wipe the sweat away from his face because the last thing he needed was to look completely disgusting but his hair was already damp so he just gave up on that, the pit in his stomach slowly getting bigger and bigger because as soon as he figured the tuning out and started singing the intro of the song he noticed how scratchy his voice sounded, and it made him want to die a little.
or, Dream's parents were never supportive of him while growing up and it left him scared of not being perfect.
It's his band's debut concert, and he messes something up.Series

“Alright Dream… This is where my property starts.”
Techno's voice carried over with the wind, and then the other stopped to turn around and face him– Dream couldn't help but notice the hint of sorrow in his gaze. So? Fine, this was Techno’s property, why had they stopped?
“Um… Okay, yeah?”
He tried speaking up, voice croaky, and then he saw the other stop so he pulled the reins of his own horse and he just couldn't understand.
“You see, there's a bit of an… A bit of an issue here.”
Dream felt himself tense at the words because he didn't like where this was going, not at all.
“What kind of problem exactly..?”
He asked, and Techno sighed in response.
“Well… I kinda need you to hand me the horse and perhaps give me the armour too?”
or, Techno canonically takes his armour back after breaking Dream out of prison, and the man in question has to take a whole trip through the Arctic with literally nothing.

“Shut the fuck up Dreamer. God– You're probably the most annoying hero out of them all, you know?”
The villain huffed out, glaring down at him.
“Always acting all high and mighty when you're just as fucked up as every single one of you heroes.”
He couldn't help but huff out a laugh, because who did this guy think he was? Dream definitely wasn't the one kidnapping people and causing destruction left and right…
“See? This is exactly what I was talking about– You all keep talking about how us heroes are so evil but look at yourself. At least we're not–"
Next came the punch to the stomach and he found himself leaning forward as much as his restraints allowed him to, his breath catching in his throat.
“You don't understand at all, do you? Sometimes you need to do bad things to achieve your goals! With how much you fucked up in your career I'd thought you'd at least have some sort of understanding about how messed up the world is, but it looks like you don't.”
or, Dream Team gets kidnapped and Dream tries to keep his teammates safe by making the villain focus on him. Turns out they're someone he wasn't expecting to meet.

“Oh, this?” Sapnap glanced down at his clothes, wincing. “I was just- partying. In the mud. And there was- koolaid. A lot of it.”
The doorway behind Sapnap, which had been left open, suddenly darkened, and a voice George had never heard came from it. “What’s going on?” The words were slurred, and George’s mind went straight to alcohol.
Sapnap bit his lip, looking between George and whoever his guest was. “I’m so sorry man, I totally would have texted if I thought you’d be awake but- this is my friend. Dream. He’s uh- he did a lot of partying tonight.”
or, George starts to see more of Sapnap's mysterious friend after he shows up to their shared apartment one night covered in mud

It was captivating, something poetically ethereal with a hint of darkness to it. Dream was obsessed with the thick accent of an overseas land shouting orders over the loud, clashing sounds of swords and angry yells of their crew.
Their fight had been so entrancing, it felt like he was witnessing an angel. There was just something about Captain George that was so charming and attractive, and Dream didn’t want to admit what he already knew.
If he had a slight, minor, tiny crush on his enemy, then that was his business.
