Summary
Her skin itches on those nights. Even though she doesn’t feel the cold anymore, doesn’t feel the need to have her fur; she longs for the woods, for the hard ground beneath her paws, for the overwhelming smell of timber and blood and flesh.
But as she clutches the blanket tight to her chest, turns to her side, and sees the empty bed, she realises, every other day, on a cycle, that the hollow inside of her is not because she misses being a coyote.
