Summary
In a different world, Darren Shan became a half-vampire, abandoning the human world to save his best friend's life. However, he was given the chance to stop his past self from ever doing so, by preventing his best friend from having that near-death experience in the first place.
Now, in this timeline, Maki Akagawa takes his place.
Their stories start similarly: both went into the Cirque du Freak; both walked out unaware of the vampiric lives they would come to lead. Both were forced into a war between the vampires and their blood cousins, the vampaneze, shortly after being blooded.
But while Darren gradually lost touch with his humanity, well on his way to fulfilling his destiny to plunge the world into darkness...Maki's destiny is the polar opposite.

Summary
Twenty years ago, Nick Fury made a team that was meant to save the world from destruction. That team did its job.
Nobody knows where the original Avengers are now. Presumably, they returned to their civilian lives and settled down, but even that isn't definite. The only thing that anybody knows for sure is that something happened in between Thanos and now that caused the team to go their separate ways.
Twenty years went by without a team to protect and help those unable to do so themselves. Now, however, a new team of Avengers was created. Not only that, they were a team of legacies. After all, who better to form the new Avengers than the children of the Avengers?
These new Avengers are here to follow in their parents' footsteps as heroes and to do better than their parents' mistakes. Sometimes the remakes never live up to the originals, but that's not what they're here for.
They're here to save the world yet again.
