Which isn't always an easy task. It was easier as Clark sure; a human man with a human job and human interests, but the world needed Superman, who definitely was not human. In those moments he shed his outer layers, the polite meek layers of a small-town man doing his best in the big city and became something else entirely—something inhuman; Kryptonian.
Unfortunately for him, Batman Can see straight through him.

Although it has been intense, it’s clear that they’re not yet at the point of mixing families or spending Thanksgiving together, so a meal the day before should do the trick... Plus, neither Superman nor Batman is on retainer at the Justice League this week. The metaphorical sun shines on them, and also on Gotham's unusually clear sky... or something like that.

Summary
Clark can smell the drugs the moment he steps inside. The problem is he doesn't realize who they're intended for until after Bruce Wayne has already ingested them.
He watches as Wayne inelegantly extracts himself from the arms of a woman just to stumble into a man and do the same thing over again. Switching to X-ray when the tight pack of people obscures his vision, he observes the man staggering through the room, heading for a side door tucked in a dark corner. When the heavy door swings shut behind him, Wayne puts a hand on the brick wall and slides to his knees, shoes scraping against the wet pavement.
Clark blinks, swallows, and navigates the crowd.

“Sure,” Jason says, shrugging. “I mean - we should get along just fine s’long as you don’t hurt Bruce, and you said you ain’t gonna do that so…we’ll get along fine, right?” Unless you’re a liar, Jason doesn’t add aloud.
“Right,” Clark agrees quickly. “I would never hurt Bruce - or you. I know trust takes time, and I hope I earn it eventually. In the meantime, I still want you to feel comfortable around me - safe, at the very least.”
