There was a slight tickle itching at the back of Lockwood's throat. As he drifted off to sleep, the idea occurred to him that perhaps he was getting sick. Hadn’t Lucy’s recent cold begun with a sore throat?
But that was unlikely. His immune system was made of stronger stuff. He hadn’t gotten sick from Lucy’s head cold yet, and he wouldn’t get sick now. Surely his body wouldn’t betray him again after he’d already fractured his wrist.
