Okay, also like, Alfred is ex-Brit military/secret service-esque, right? At least that's what I've seen in fics (I've read more DCU fics than consumed actual cannon content). So, he's obvs killed in the line of duty, does Bruce not take issue with that, or is his secret middle name Hypocrisy?
