Long enough that you had learned to speak these creatures’ language well enough, much to their delight, and long enough to make friends out of them. Hunger was no longer a problem, all you really needed to do was sleep- Which was easily attainable, since there was a bed, and more than that- There was a creature who was very happy to share the bed with you at any given opportunity.
