Summary
He glances out of the window, catching his reflection; an old man in opposition to the youth his face alludes. He built a cabin here a hundred years or so ago, procured the deeds to the land where he sent his Freya and his Arthur to rest. It's peaceful, one of the few remaining places in Britain where the magic has not died. He sees many creatures from his porch, he leaves them alone and they leave him alone. Not many people find their way here, the magic leaving an unsettling feeling in their bones of being watched.
He feels he's being watched today, which is not unusual but does have the hairs sticking up on the back of his neck. He sets the kettle on the stove to boil and he waits.
