“No reason.” Said way too quickly and way too suspiciously.
Todo reaches out for Chihaya’s wrist, fingers wrapping all the way around it to pull it away.
“Stop!” Chihaya yelps in alarm, but when Todo drops his wrist, it’s for a different reason. Even though he goes back to covering it instantly, it’s too late; Todo had seen it.
“Are those fangs?”
Or, in which Todo finds out Chihaya is a vampire and offers to be his next meal.

Summary
Chihaya rationalizes it for some time. After all, they’re all helping each other become a semi-functional baseball team. Of course they have to spend time together and look at each other. On top of that, he wouldn’t expect Todo to just ignore him when they sit next to each other in class. Todo is friendly and personable. There’s no deeper meaning to how often Chihaya catches his gaze. If there was, Todo would be better at hiding it, wouldn’t he?
or, chihaya keeps catching todo looking at him, and he just wants to know what it means.

Summary
Some of the guilt lingers. In the end, leaving that match with their first victory, he still couldn’t turn back to look at the one he’d slighted. If Kiyomine and Kaname were two faces he wished he’d never have to see again, Makita was another. It wasn’t that he’d done anything to Chihaya. In fact, it was the opposite.
He hasn’t made up for dismissing Makita’s efforts yet. That chance will come when they play in the summer tournament—is what Chihaya finds himself hoping. He knows the second year Kirishima is their starting pitcher, but he also knows that Makita wouldn’t just accept that. He’d challenged them, after all. I won’t lose next time, he’d said.
Chihaya just wasn’t expecting to hear from him again until they faced off in the tournament.
