Summary
Hunk owns a library in his small town, and is happy to spend the rest of his days caring for it. But then Shiro and Keith tornado into his life, those damned cowboys, and Hunk finds himself flipped over. There's something strange about them, though.

Nails sharper than a palmetto leaf tear across his skin in what must have been a gentle touch, but is actually nothing more than searing pain directly to his nerve-endings. He doesn't move, though, because he's absolutely terrified- ashen like a doused fire- and it's that which makes Shiro flinch back and let him go.
"Don't be scared." Comes the panicked voice around him. It's distorted, deep and high all at once, but it's unmistakably Keith's soft rasp that Hunk hears.
Even that doesn't do much to quell the fear taking root in him.

Summary
Hunk was kind of a special one, see. He's able to infuse the food he makes with the emotions he feels— though he can never control the outcome no matter how hard he tries.
Mostly he focused more on the method than the magic, and it usually turned out pretty alright.
But today is special.

Summary
Outside, the world is bathed in white. Soft, pillowy dunes of snowflakes that weigh heavy on tree branches and dance across roofs.
Kolivan breathes in deep, eyes widening. He’d seen snow, of course, but never to an extent such as that, and never so breathlessly beautiful.
He’s so enamored by it that he doesn’t notice when Hunk sets a mug of hot cocoa in front of him, nor does he notice Hunk getting up from the table to find their coats.
Only when he’s being stuffed in something fur-lined and boots as pressed against his feet does the spell break, and by then Hunk has him halfway out the door.

Summary
Hunk pulls away only to capture Shiro’s hand fully, pressing his fingers in the spaces between. “We should ride trains more often.”
Shiro snorts, quickly hiding it as a cough as the waiter comes back with his champagne. He lifts the flute in thanks as they leave, and quickly takes a sip as Hunk stares at him with a dopey smile.
“What happened to being nervous?”
“You calmed me down. Maybe too much.” Hunk says, haughty like a spoiled cat. “You only have yourself to blame.”
