Summary
Jiang Cheng wakes up on the Yiling mountainside slightly earlier than in canon. Like a butterfly flapping its wings, this changes everything. Wei Wuxian is in the Burial Mounds for hours instead of months, Wen Qing and Wen Ning join the Jiang Clan, and we witness the whole greatly-altered Sunshot Campaign. As to what *follows* the Sunshot Campaign...
While this is primarily CQL canon, it's also blending in novel canon, particularly in terms of characters and places that hadn't been introduced as of the scene when Jiang Cheng awoke after the golden core transfer. Names of places and techniques are sometimes taken from the Netflix subtitles and sometimes from the official novel translation, based largely on which version of the name I liked better. ;)
Given the massive length of this fic (~500k), I will be posting every few days instead of once a week; I don't want to spend even longer posting it than I did writing it!

“There is no way for a dead cultivator to return,” Jiang Cheng scoffed, not even willing to entertain the thought.
“Perhaps, perhaps not,” Nie Huaisang shrugged, “Even if he came back, that wouldn’t do much to help, would it? Your sister is still gone. His reputation still damaged.”
“Stop speaking in riddles,” Jiang Wanyin growled, “What did you come here for, Nie Huaisang?”
“I asked you what you would do for your brother back,” Nie Huaisang started, “I would do anything to have mine back, Jiang Wanyin. And I’m here to offer you that same choice. Because our brothers’ deaths never should have happened. They happened because of schemes and plots. They happened because of lies and deception. Your brother was made to be a villain and was led to his death because he was too powerful. Mine was murdered because he stood in the way of Jin Guangshan.”
There's nothing Jiang Cheng wouldn't do to have his siblings back. And when Nie Huaisang comes to him with a proposal to save them by changing everything, he doesn't even hesitate to agree.

Summary
What if The Wen clan attacked much MUCH earlier, what if the lan clan of Gusu and the Jiang Clan of Yunmeng were both taken down months apart leaving orphans in their wake. What if said orphans Were the twin jades of Gusu and the Children (both blood and martial) of Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu. And what if both sets of kids were taken in by gods? Lan Xichen makes a prayer for his brother that leads to them being taken in by the Water Master Shi Wudu who takes pity out of familiar histories while the Yunmeng trio happen upon a humble scrap collector Xie Lian who finds them drifting down river and takes them in knowing fully well what its like to lose your family in war.
(Partly based before the events of TGCF but will end up going in a weird retelling of the story but with teenager versions of the MDZS characters and also some minor plots that tie into the MDZS plot. )(( Slight age changing for reasons :P))Series

Sizhui’s A-niang is a faded memory of a bright smile and silver eyes, the soft, gentle pressure of yin-binding ties on his wrists, and the empty spaces in a song.
A song Sizhui’s father refuses to let anyone else but him and Sizhui hear, because his A-niang never will again. A song they alone know, a song they alone play, to remember what was lost.
So, why is this random demonic cultivator playing it to a headless corpse?
In which Wei Wuxian is dead, the Yiling Laozu is also dead, and Sizhui’s A-niang is also ALSO dead. Three entirely different dead people.

Summary
Wei Wuxian had always seen the Unity Ceremony as a place to goof off and pull pranks on the Jin. He didn't have any reason to believe this year would be any different, until Madam Yu sat him and Jiang Cheng down and explained exactly what the cuffs on their wrist meant. Wei Wuxian wished he could laugh it off like Jiang Cheng, but instead he only had a sinking feeling.
That he was omega.
