El pequeño Seungjae no conoce más que el miedo y la soledad en sus cortos tres años de vida, ha tenido que soportar los abusos de su madre y novio desde su nacimiento. Heo YangLim, que tras un pasado oscuro encontró refugio en las drogas desde hace 8 años y con casi 30 años, no ha logrado enderezar el camino de su vida. Ni siquiera la llegada de su pequeño hijo fue motivo suficiente, y en consecuencia, el comienzo de la vida del pequeño estuvo llena de dolor y sufrimiento dejándolo casi al borde de la muerte. Meses antes de su cumpleaños número 4, su madre YangLim y su novio Cha KangJae fueron arrestados debido a sus malas decisiones, por lo tanto el pequeño fue dejado bajo el cuidado de los servicios familiares hasta que pudieran contactar a su padre biológico.
