Roy wakes up in the middle of the night to a noise; it's not an intruder, nor a remnant of his nightmares, but rather Edward, trapped in a nightmare of his own.So, of course, he does what he can to help the kid, as much as Edward will let him.

Gasping, Edward surges up, forwards, hands grasping, and his forehead smashes the underside of Roy's chin. Luckily, or not, the hand now twisted into the front of his sleepshirt stops him from recoiling away from the kid's bedside.
"Hey, oi, Fullmetal, Edward, you're fine. Breathe through it." Golden eyes, fever-wild, dart across the room, finding the shadows, the exits, Roy, the shadows once again.
"Bas'ard?"
"Reporting for duty," he mutters, half on default and mostly in the vague hope that the familiar sarcasm might help the kid ground himself. Maybe it does, because something in his eyes seems a little clearer, finally, but maybe not much brighter for it.
