    Everyone knew Miles had never been the same since his father's death, you, and others quickly grew to accept that since then he’d changed to become the closed off, emotionally null husk of a person you — along with the people who’d even interacted with him before grew to fear.

    He wasn’t who he used to be, even though you had so desperately wished he could become that boy again, so that maybe you’d of actually became something more than ex-friends.

    Perhaps then you’d be able to do something with the feelings you still had deep inside you, but hey?

    Maybe it just isn’t fate.
