Steve grabbed the hand on his shoulder – Bucky's left – and wordlessly held it up so that Bucky could see the problem.

Summary
Tim watches as Jon’s eyes flit over the paper, and their face softens into a small smile. Martin walks back into the room, sees Jon and the paper, and he freezes. Before Jon can turn and see the look of horror on Martin’s face, Tim jumps to his feet.
“Oh, that’s mine!” he claims, hoping that whatever Martin wrote wasn't too bad. “You,uh, you like it?”
Jon scoffs, but they don’t say no. “I didn’t take you for a poet. I better not catch you writing poetry on company time.” There’s no bite to their words. In fact, it’s the most playful Tim’s heard them sound in weeks.
“I’d never let you catch me, Boss!” Tim salutes Jon, who rolls their eyes and goes back into their office.
It’s a love poem. Jon read a love poem that they found on the ground and they smiled. Tim looks up. “Holy shit, Martin, you’ve got to help me.”

“I wouldn’t be intruding, would I?” Jon said softly. “On you and Martin.” He looked up, and Tim, perched on the edge of the desk, saw that knowing look in his eyes.
Tim deflated. There was no point pretending. “How did you guess?”
Jon shrugged. “I hear more than you lot think I do.”
Curiously, Tim’s face went red at this. “Martin said the rooms down here are soundproof.”
Jon blanched, “You did not! I sleep on that cot too you know!”

Jon doesn’t want to trust his coworkers. He can’t. But after being cursed by a Leitner to obey any command given to him, he might have to.
[I got too busy to finish turning my outline into prose, so the last two chapters are bullet point not!fic. My outlines are casual but fairly detailed; they make for a different reading experience than finished prose, of course, but not an unenjoyable one in my opinion. They successfully finish telling the story I set out to tell, so I consider this fic complete.]
