I helped Tommy run away because neither of you two was paying any attention to him, and the Wastakens treated him better than you two would’ve. He was six, Wil, and neither of you cared. It took you guys three months to finally realize he went missin’, and I had to be the one to bring it up. Do you realize how f—ed up that is?”

The fireborn opened the door and walked in, eyes meeting the trembling form of his fiance. He slowly approached, getting down onto his knees as he carefully scooped the other into his arms. “Hey bug, it’s okay.” The other flinched before going slack, zoning out. “Karl?” He asked, a lot more concerned now.
It took a few more seconds before the other zoned back in, no longer crying and instead pulling himself out of Sapnap’s arms. “Hey-What-” “It’s fine, I don’t need help.”
“Karl, let-” “No. Every time you’ve done something to help Karl, you’ve hurt tick.”

“Yeah?” Karl watched the man stare at the comm. “Sam, the prison is crumbling,” Ponk shouted through the speakerphone of the comm for the people nearby to hear, “You need to get out!”
“What?!” The Warden shouted in shock, looking around. “You can’t be serious, there are things I’ve done to protect this place-” Sam began before a massive boom was heard, running through the place and causing a quake to be sent throughout the place.
Karl’s mouth curled slightly into a grin.
“Oh s—.” Sam muttered before the area around them began to collapse. Karl ran to Sapnap, wrapping him up in a hug as he pushed him into George and Dream, before everything went black.

Summary
Looking up he finds a blond-haired man hovering over his face with a worried, anxious look that quickly turning to relief when their eyes meet. Royal blue meeting a greyish blue. “Hey mate.” The stranger greets with a smile, his voice much clearer than before, “You awake?”
As a reply, Tommy lets out a short wheeze, trying to give the man a look that reads ‘what do you think?’.
“Yeah, silly question.” The man responds with a light-hearted chuckle. “It’s okay though, we’ll get you out of here and help you get better.” He explains, gesturing towards someone that seemed to be out of Tommy’s eyesight.

For most of his life, Tommy spent his days serving a tyrant king due to his magical potential. However, after another kingdom declares war and the king tries to steal his magic in a desperate act to win, he's sent into a deep sleep unable to wake up until his magic returns.

The second Karl- that kind of thing wasn’t unheard of. He’d accidentally left doppelgangers behind before, when he’d leave for too long a time. They were meant to disappear directly once Karl arrived back home, however. They weren’t perfect copies either. Missing memories, jolted personalities. Usually crafted together hastily, to fill in the void he left.
