Summary
After the longest five seconds of Bucky’s life, the time machine roared and a bright light flashed over the clearing. But when the light faded, Bucky's youthful, towheaded paragon of justice wasn’t on the platform.
In his place were the somehow undead Natasha Romanoff and Tony Stark, and a stooped old man, face unfamiliar with age spots and wrinkles.
Seeing a gold ring on Steve's timeworn finger was too much for Bucky to bear, as he turns around thinking "it should have been me." It could have been, if Steve wasn't so selfless.

Summary
While on a mission gone wrong, Connor's systems are badly injured and he goes into permanent shutdown. Without any RK800 models left over, the technicians are forced to upload him to the only compatible model they could find: an android child. An opportunity unfolds as Hank gets to dust off his parenting skills once more, and Connor may get to experience the childhood that he never got.
I wrote this back in July 2020 but I didn't want it to sit in my WIPs folder forever, so I'm posting it now, in September 2022. It has been abandoned, but please feel free to adopt this fic idea!

Summary
Steve was in a bad mood for a few reasons.
He hated his bad coffee, he hated his stuffy suits, and most of all, he hated HYDRA, which was clearly dead-set on ruining every aspect of his life. He hadn't felt quite right in nearly a year, when he and his fellow Avengers brought down the Triskelion and ousted HYDRA from SHIELD.
When he accidentally runs into a young veteran at the VA who looks exactly like his long-dead best friend, Steve can't bring himself to focus, suspicious and reasonably distrustful that HYDRA is behind the imposter wearing his friend's face.
He won't let himself get his hopes up. He will stay vigilant and as far away from the deceit as he can.
But he can't stop the hope that Bucky Barnes might truly be alive from creeping in.

It’s the leather and the buckles and the capable stance. It’s the determination: familiar, and not. Steve doesn’t even know which mission this had been. Where this snapshot of the Winter Soldier had been captured, a splinter out of time. Too many to choose from. But that doesn’t matter.
His skin prickles, his heart races in supersoldier extra-double-time, with want.
