“Oh.” He didn’t drop what he was holding, rather placed it down on the counter with more force than expected. Drift noticed now the remnants of death in the room. It takes a lot more than time and rubbing alcohol to remove energon stains and the lingering smell of an extinguished spark. Perhaps this room was more akin to a morgue after all. Perhaps this mech had come down here not as damning punishment for incompetence, but as a challenge to save the unsaveable. “Ratchet. My name is Ratchet.”

Logan rolls his eyes, taking another sip of burnt coffee.
“Yeah. Food tastes better when it ain’t fuckin’ burnt, dumbass.”
“Y’know,” Wade swallows and clears his throat, “They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”
Logan considers the statement for a moment, willing the creep of heat over his face away best he can.
“Easier to go through the sternum.”
