Summary
Stede grew up on a farmhouse with his parents—his mother’s pride and joy—but after she passed, his father saw no reason to “waste their lives” and relocated them to a larger city. Now, decades later, his father has carked it and Stede is finally free to seek out the life he wants. With his divorce to Mary set in motion, Stede moves back to the same farm, hoping to start over.
Problem is, he certainly has no idea how to be a proper farmer.
Fortunately for him, his neighbor Ed Teach is also a farmer, and an incredibly experienced one at that. Ed seems more than happy to show him the ropes, as well as offer him genuine friendship. Stede doesn’t expect to also fall for him like a ton of bricks. Now, not only does he have to figure out how to successfully navigate his new life, but also grapple with the feelings whirling inside of him without chasing Ed away.

Ed is lying on the couch, tummy down, knees bent and legs crossed at the ankles. He’s got a game controller in his hands, big headphones on his head (kitty ears and all), a lollipop in his mouth, lower lip tantalizingly red.
“You fuck,” he grunts into the microphone around the candy, flexing his ankles. “You think you’re carrying?” He yanks it out of his mouth and sets it on the coffee table. “That’s fucking rich.”

Recently divorced, Stede isn't sure where to start on the whole "getting himself out there" thing. Ed offers to help, so they write out a list of Stede’s goals. The only problem? They both may be just slightly in love with each other. They just don't know it yet.
