Summary
Arkady punched Rodrick Quincy Cresswin III. His parents practically own Harmony College and Arkady knows she’s going to get expelled. That is, unless she can find a way out, and fast. Sana, Arkady’s mom friend since childhood and her current RA, is recruited to keep an eye on Arkady and watch her. Watch the dangerous way her eyes drift off as she paces, like she’s looking for any escape and she’s going to find one Sana won’t like. Sana goes out to the garage and puts the final touches on the van, the one her boss said was unfixable, and they find another way out. The two of them recruit Violet, an anxious freshman, and grad students Krejjh (the only one Sana knows with a driver’s license) and the lovingly abducted Brian on a road trip complete with late night, inexplicably space themed diners, hotels with suspiciously few twin beds, and a few gentle interventions.

“Is there anything I can do to help?” Bow asks. Glimmer looks up at him. She appreciates him asking, but…
“Do you wanna come home with me and stand in between me and my mom every time we’re in a room together?” she says. Bow gives her a look as he sits down beside her on the couch. “Sorry,” Glimmer says, sighing. “No, there isn’t really anything you can do.”
“I would go home with you if I could,” Bow says. Glimmer half-laughs, pauses, and reassesses the situation.
“Is there…a reason that you can’t?”
(Glimmer has been avoiding seeing her parents for three years. When she finally has to go home, she takes Bow with her. They pretend to be dating, because clearly that's the best possible way to justify his presence and this decision will have no unforeseen consequences at all.)
