Summary
It’s been five years since they broke up. Since she broke up with Jungeun, as Jinsoul likes to remind herself on her more self-flagellating of days. Jungeun probably doesn’t even think about her anymore, because that’s what you do when someone breaks your heart; you forget about them and you move on with your life.
It’s been five years since Jungeun, and there have been other people since. She’s been on dates and had girlfriends and tried out the whole casual thing with Sana for a while until she met Momo and put a stop to that. Jinsoul doesn’t delude herself into thinking that Jungeun won’t have done the same. Jungeun will have moved on, will have rebuilt her life after Jinsoul tore it down. Jinsoul is hardly irreplaceable. She’s nothing special.
It’s been five years, which is long enough that it shouldn’t still hurt like this, and Jinsoul shouldn’t still feel so empty inside whenever she thinks about it. But it does, and she does.
(or; when Jinsoul is twenty-one, she falls in love with Jungeun. When she's twenty-eight, she does it again.)

Summary
Jungeun leans back in her chair and raises an eyebrow. “I mean, you never even told me your name.”
“You never asked,” Jinsol points out. “And besides, you were gone the next morning before I woke up. It was clearly meant to just be a one time thing. One night, and then we’d never see each other again.”
“Until now,” Jungeun says, her smirk horribly dangerous.
“Until now,” Jinsol echoes.
(or; in December, Jinsol has a one night stand with a cute blonde girl. Six months later, that same girl gets hired to work for her.)

Summary
She’s gotten used to wanting Jinsol like this. Wanting her, always having her close enough to touch, but never really having her. Just enough to keep her hooked, but never enough to truly sate her.
And it always makes her feel a little bit ashamed, knowing that Jinsol doesn’t feel the same. Knowing that one day, maybe in a few months, maybe a couple of years from now, Jinsol is going to meet someone new and she’s going to decide she’s had enough of living with Jungeun, and move in with her new person who makes her laugh and smile after a long day in the studio, who brings her flowers before their dates and takes her to Paris for their anniversary because Jinsol is a secret huge romantic at heart, who gets to kiss her good morning and good night every day, and Jungeun will still be just the best friend on the sidelines because she’s never going to be that person for Jinsol.
Knowing that it’s coming doesn’t make it hurt any less though, and besides, wanting something isn’t the same as needing something. Jungeun should really have gotten over this long ago.
(or; Jungeun, Jinsol, and two thousand miles on the road.)

Summary
"If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?"
Later, when her head is no longer clouded over from the saccharine sweet spell that Jinsol puts her in every summer and her skin is no longer burning with the aftermath of an electric shock where Jinsol is touching her, Jungeun can look back on this night, this moment, can turn it over and inspect it from every angle and acknowledge that this is probably the point where she crosses the line from her crush being a whimsical and flimsy thing that she can ignore easily enough, into her crush being an all-consuming wildfire burning in Jungeun’s chest, regardless of the distance between her and Jinsol.
But now, all she can focus on is the delicate features of Jinsol’s face; the curve of her jaw, the slope of her nose, the bottomless brown of her eyes.
The answer is so big, so obvious, it feels like it’s tattooed across her forehead, and it comes out before Jungeun even realises what she’s saying.
“Here,” Jungeun murmurs. “I’d stay right here.”

Summary
"It's not like— it won't be the first time we've kissed," Jinsoul says. Slurs, really, her voice lower and her sentences slower than usual, which is just another reminder that neither of them are really in the right condition to be considering this. She’s not wasted, but she’s not sober either. "You're drunk, I'm drunk, we're both here, we're both— you know...”
No, Jungeun doesn’t know. She doesn’t know anything anymore because there's no way that Jinsoul — Jung Jinsoul, her best friend for over a decade, of which approximately half of that time Jungeun has been in love with her for, and who has never been anything but painfully, torturously heterosexual — is suggesting what Jungeun thinks she’s suggesting.
(or; Jungeun falls in love with her best friend when she's sixteen, and never quite learns how to fall out.)

Summary
Jungeun says every long-lasting relationship is like a garden: you first start out with a few seeds of potential.
Vivi doesn’t see any potential in her latest love interest… ok maybe she’s fine as fuck and her toy poodle is kinda cute (she’s got Latte going for her) but other than that, there’s no future. They come from different social circles, have different goals in life- for God’s sake, she doesn’t even own a real bed! (Vivi can’t see herself marrying someone who sleeps on an air mattress.)
It’s time to call it quits. How hard can it be to cut off a silly Tinder fling? (Spoiler: when that “fling” is named Haseul Jo, then it’s really, really fucking hard.)

Summary
“The decor leaves something to be desired, I haven’t tried the food yet, but surely it isn’t life changing enough for people to risk their lives making their way through the crowd of protestors to come eat it here. You hear that uncharacteristic quiet outside? That’s because I had my men to take care of it. Temporarily. Let’s face it. You’re losing this place unless we help you out.”
“Listen.” When Jiwoo pauses, one finger in the air, the woman murmurs Sooyoung. Jiwoo finds her annoying, right from the fancy buttons on her leather jacket right down to her high heeled sneakers. “Sooyoung ssi. I don’t know what kind of life you’ve lived so far that has you walking into places and bossing people around, but I feel like you need a little reality check from people who aren’t your minions—”
Here are all the things stopping Jiwoo from having a peaceful life - two political rivals who occasionally make out in the back of her café, one bad girl determined to get on her nerves, her best friend hiding things, and her staff handling their complicated love lives, very, very badly. Or, politics, romance and kitchen disasters dance circles around each other in a queer café in Hongdae.

Summary
Sooyoung doesn’t believe in soulmates.
She thinks it’s an unreliable system, the little timers counting down on each person’s wrists from birth. If the times were fixed, she’d probably be more inclined to believe in them.
Though, the pretty girl sitting in her lap covered in her coffee, might just give her a run for her money.

Summary
Just what does Haseul want her to do exactly? Is it not enough that she’s seen Jiwoo on billboards, on ramen noodle packets and McDonald’s meals? Is it not enough that she’s seen Jiwoo in her bed, in her kitchen dancing around with a half-drunk bottle of Coke in her hand? Does Sooyoung also have to see her face in her own living room now, or standing next to her? Hold the same hand that curled around her doorframe before walking out of her life forever, stand next to her, close to her like it doesn’t burn her up inside? Pretend she’s in love with the one woman who’s ever held, and then dropped her heart?
Sooyoung's pretending to date her ex-girlfriend, Hyunjin's sleeping with her best friend, Yeojin's pretty sure she's fallen in love with the girl with purple hair, Jinsol and Jungeun are terrible at hiding engagement rings and Haseul? Haseul's just tired of their shit. Really.
