"Why are you here?” he asked, evenly.
Hermione resisted the urge to give him what he wanted – the answer he already knew.
“Why did you agree to see me?”
That earned her the tilt of his lips on one side.
Sensuous lips, she noted, unwillingly.
“A wet, little girl sleeping outside my place of business is a sight bound to attract police attention.”
Fair enough.
“As I’m sure you’re aware,” he said, with a flick his ashes.
Hermione swallowed. “You could have escorted me further out. Not in.”
Tom Riddle leaned back in his chair, eyes never leaving hers. “And so you have my attention. I’ll ask a second time. I won’t ask a third. Why are you here?”
“I want you to help me find and kill my father’s murderer,” Hermione quickly declared, puffing out her chest to seem as formidable as possible. -

The implication of that word sounded even more suggestive.

We sat in silence for what felt like an eternity.
"Do you make it a habit of watching people while they sleep?" I finally hoarsely inquired with an edge of sarcasm, making his lips twitch into that familiar ghost of a smile. It was enough to make my chest ache.
