"I'll be your boyfriend for Christmas."
Carlos stares at him like his brain is struggling to comprehend what TK is offering. It's a shared feeling, given that sometimes TK's brain engages before his filter does, and this is definitely one of those times. There’s no room for regrets, though, and he’s not really sure he regrets making the suggestion.
“TK,” Carlos starts softly. "What you're suggesting is— Well, it's a little crazy but also very generous. I can’t ask you to do that for me. It’s really too much to ask of anyone."
TK gets up off his bed and crouches in front of Carlos, his hands on Carlos’s knees. “Firstly, you're not asking, I’m offering. Secondly, consider it a social experiment, like the ones you learn about in class. Except this one directly involves you and me...as your fake boyfriend. You know, for science."

“Oh, no the hell we won’t.”
“Carlos, he knows we have sex.”
“There’s a difference between knowing it and seeing it.” He shudders. “The time he walked in on us when we were staying with him was bad enough.”
“Oh,” TK shakes his head. “That barely even counts.”
“Barely even counts?” Carlos scoffs, sitting back as far as he can. “Barely even counts? TK, I was knee deep inside you when he walked in.”
“He said he didn’t see anything.”
“My ass was in the air and your legs were slung over my shoulders,” he says flatly. “He saw.”

Carlos and TK try handcuffs in the bedroom and they end up in an awkward position.

Marjan enters the kitchen leaning forward, her elbows against the counter. “Did you guys want to make tonight a triple date with Joe, me, Paul and Asha?”
“We can’t tonight, we have to go home and bathe our lizard,” TK says.
“Ew, please tell me that’s not a euphemism for something else.”
Carlos smiles sarcastically. “Oh, I wish it was-” then quickly frowns- “but it isn’t.”
